Pallet Racking Damage Inspection Course - IOSH Approved (Level 2 - Competent Inspection)

Course title:      
IOSH-Pallet Racking Damage Inspection

Course content:         
This course covers 6 modules highlighting all the essential aspects of pallet racking safety including:

  • Components,
  • System types
  • Applicable Safe Working Loads (SWL)
  • How to inspect pallet racking
  • Applicable tolerances & deflections
  • How to record a pallet racking inspection
  • Relevant legal requirements.

The course includes conformity with applicable SEMA guidelines, EN15635 standards and current health and safety legislation.

Who will benefit from this course? 
This course is aimed at

  • Employees required to take on the role of in-house racking inspector
  • Employees with responsibility for warehouse health & safety.
  • It is suited to employees at all levels.

Delegates can range from warehouse operatives and forklift truck drivers to team leaders, supervisors and managers.

Course duration:          
The course duration is two days, approximately 14–16 hours in total. Approximately 3-4 hours of this time is spent undertaking written and practical assessment activities.

What will delegates get from the course?

  • This course will allow delegates to develop an understanding of adjustable pallet racking systems and their limitations.
  • Those attending will use the skills and knowledge gained to demonstrate the completion of a safe and effective Pallet Racking inspection in a live warehouse setting.

This course can be delivered to a maximum of 4 delegates per course. We recommend a minimum of 2 delegates to ensure adequate coverage on your site and this is reflected in our pricing structure.

Pallet Racking Safety Awareness Course (Basic Awareness) Two-hour

Course title:
Pallet Racking Safety Awareness

Course content:    
This course covers 3 main sections legal requirements, damage to components and do’s and don’ts around pallet racking. 

Who will benefit from this course? 

  • This course is suitable for operatives who work within the warehouse environment and is ideal for both current and new employees.
  • It is ideal to be used as part of new staff inductions to ensure new employees are aware of safety considerations when working within racking systems.

Course duration:
This is a two-hour course with a mix of theory and practical.

What will delegates get from the course?

  • Employees will gain a basic understanding of the consequences of damaged racking with a focus on the effective reporting of damage.
  • They will take part in a pallet racking safety tour aimed at highlighting damage and hazards within the structure and gain useful safety tips on working in and around the racking system.

Candidate Numbers:
This course can be delivered with a maximum of 10 delegates per course meaning on larger sites up to 3 courses can be delivered per day.

Pallet Racking Damage Awareness Course (Level 1 - Basic Inspection)

Pallet Racking Damage Awareness (Basic inspection)

Course content:    

This course covers 5 modules highlighting all the essential aspects of pallet racking safety including

  • Components,
  • System types,
  • How to inspection pallet racking
  • Applicable tolerances & deflections
  • Relevant legal requirements.

This course includes conformity with applicable SEMA guidelines, EN15635 standards, and current health and safety legislation.

Who will benefit from this course? 

This course is aimed at responsible personnel within the warehouse environment and is ideal for both current and new employees. Suitable roles would include warehouse supervisors, team leaders, MHE operators, etc.

Course duration:  

This is a one-day course with a mix of theory and practical.

What will delegates get from the course?

Employees will gain the necessary skills and knowledge based on the latest European standards to enable them to evaluate damage identified during racking inspections. They will take part in a pallet racking safety tour aimed at highlighting damage and other hazards within the structure and gain useful safety tips on the effective management of the racking system.

Understanding Pallet Racking Damage Course - Half-day

Course title:           
Understanding Pallet Racking Damage

Course content:    
The course is split into 4 modules covering

  • Pallet racking and its components,
  • The reasons why pallet racking must be inspected,
  • How to conduct a racking inspection
  • Common hazards faced with the warehouse environment.

This course includes conformity with applicable SEMA guidelines, EN15635 standards and current health and safety legislation.

Who will benefit from this course? 

  • This course is aimed at responsible personnel within the warehouse environment and is ideal for both current and new employees.
  • It is ideal for both current and new employees as well as a refresher course for those who have previously completed a racking inspection course.
  • It is designed to boost their safety knowledge and encourage safe working practices.

Course duration:   
This is a four-hour course with a mix of theory and practical.

  • Employees will gain an understanding of the consequences of damaged racking and why this must always be reported.
